Vista Club
Objectives
To gather our students from culturally diverse communities together, providing them opportunities on various platforms to engage from every walk of life in unique educational and cultural opportunities that reflect and celebrate our heritage.
About VISTA:
A college is not all by itself; it stands on three crucial pillars, namely ACADEMICS, SPORTS, and Cultural activities. VISTA is BIT Durg’s premier cultural club. It has earned remarkable recognition from the college in very short span. The VISTA club organizes various cultural events for the students from all batches and branches together.
The club channels the immense creativity of students in our college and keeps them mentally stimulated while enjoying a well-deserved breathing space in between versatile technical sessions in the curriculum. It gives very good refreshing fragrances to both participants and volunteers that will certainly enhance confidence, personality, teamwork, and learning by experience. This will cater to the long-run personality development, essentially needed for an academic institution. Be it intra or inter-college competitions, VISTA has put talent on the map. VISTA identifies the immeasurable hidden talent that remains unacknowledged within the college by rectifying the indignity of the talented. In finding those hidden artists and giving them the requisite limelight, VISTA Club aims,
- To provide a platform for the students to show their hidden talent
- To promote UNITY IN DIVERSITY within the college
- To gain recognition in various fields apart from academics
- To gain confidence in the long run for the personality development of participants
With these aims, the VISTA club organizes various dimensions of cultural activities systematically. It has five wings under its flag namely, elocution, dramatics, dance, music, and fine arts.
These wings conduct regular activities like debates, speeches, quizzes, essay writing, etc. deliberately hence engaging students to make full use of their idle time. Apart from these, participants are also trained in the medium of workshops and guidance from experts.
- Debate competition and essay writing is organized to give a platform to young minds to showcase their talent.
- Soft skills seminar was conducted by Vista, to enable students to develop their communication skills.
- Motivational lectures by eminent personalities are being organized from time to time.
- The induction program of first-year students is organized, to give them a brief outlook of the college and the years to come.
- Additionally, students from our college have represented BIT in various national-level fests like Mood-Indigo, Kshitij, Aarush, Aavartan, Rendezvous, and national-level MUNs at IIT BHU and KIIT.
In recent trends, institutions are more focused on extracurricular activities especially cultural activities along with curricular activities for their balanced behaviorsin academic life, society, corporate, and any versatileenvironments. The following are some of the benefitsof the cultural activities:
- Educational Benefits:Simultaneous involvement in more than one activity reflects the talent and potential of the student. When applying for admission to colleges for higher degrees, these students get a preference too. While performing several activities in college along with their studies students learn prioritization and time management skills too.Hiring officials or placement companies look for these talents in college students and also prefer such all-rounders.
- Real-time problem-solving skills in versatile environments:While participating in events, students learn to achievea common goal, for decision-making, and problem-solving in versatile situations, that’s ultimately develops a sense of responsibility in them. It increases theirconfidencelevel and also teaches them how to cooperate and work with people in different conditions. They learn to face the challenges that come with education and careers.
- Social Benefits: Cultural activities especially, increase opportunities for social interaction and new relationship building. As most of these activities are groupactivities, this gives a chance to students to know more about people of different passions and cultures. They can also find clubs or groups that share similar social, religious, or even entertainment interests for socialization. Interaction with people of different backgrounds helps in the development of the interpersonal skills of students.
- Managing skill Benefits:Organizing and conductingvarious cultural events under the umbrella of the VISTA club is not an easy task at all. It gives a great opportunity for the interested to autodidact themselves in basic management skills.
Committees of students and faculties are formed for the smooth conduction and management of events. The VISTA club events are organized by junior students but monitored and managed by senior students. The faculty committee is headed by the professor in charge whereas the student committee has several designations such as Advisor, convener, treasurer, executive members, and associate members. Events are organized as per the academic calendar of the institute or as per the instructions of the head of the institution.
