Managing Trustee’s Message
A well-known industrialist, Shri Kuldeep Kumar is the managing trustee of BIT, trust. With his vision as a leader and commitment to excellence, he is the guiding force behind many policies and decisions taken at the College level. His experience, zeal, sincerity, and unconditional support have helped the Institution to achieve the stature that it has today.
Three decades ago we envisioned nurturing technologists that would help the country grow. Bhilai Institute of Technology(BIT), Durg was the manifestation of that vision and a commitment to achieve exemplary standards in Engineering and Management education.
Since its inception in 1986, the Institute gained a reputation for igniting the young minds with passion for excellence in every walk of life. Its advanced infrastructure in the form of excellent building and well equipped laboratories and guided by highly qualified and dedicated faculty soon made it the first choice for students not only from the region but from all over the country.
In the last three decades,Institute has taken bold strides in the field of advanced technical and management studies. It has also imbibed a culture of research among the students and faculty. Apart from offering UG and PG programs in Engineering and Management it has ten approved research centres and has been accredited by various government agencies. We shall relentlessly strive towards our mission “Aspire to Excel”that shall help us to create responsible global technocrats.
Chairman’s Message
A renowned industrialist Shri Vijay Kumar Gupta is the Chairman of Board of Governors of Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg. His zeal commitment has always motivated for having excellence in achieving newer heights by carving global technocrats.
He is also the Managing Director of Beekay Engineering Corporation, Bhilai.
Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg has tryst with excellence. We strive for excellence by ensuring a galaxy of superlatives in the form of Students, Faculty and Infrastructure. Since its inception, the Institute has remained committed to creation, achieving and dissemination of knowledge in the sphere of Science, Engineering, Technology and Management. We aspire to carry out high quality research in the frontiers of Technology as well as develop professionals with blend of sound knowledge and skill, respect for profession, social and national values and ethics.
Our journey of 30 years through the horizon of techno-managerial education has culminated in an inclusive expansion into all areas of engineering, science and business management. From its initial stride for imparting engineering education in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, it has grown into a gigantic and well balanced techno-managerial institute offering courses in Engineering & technology, Management courses and Computer Application courses at Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral level. This institute shares a special bond with the industries through its training & placement cell. As a result, the industries have happily rewarded our students by offering higher compensation and hiring them at large numbers.
Research has been a corner stone of this Institute. Major research projects in the thrust areas are underway. We encourage our students to take up industrial projects through its Research & Development cell. Our endeavor shall be to offer the students of BIT a wholesome, enjoyable and fulfilling experience of learning.
To foster all round development of students we have a large number of cultural, sports, social and scientific activities. We regularly invite the leaders and motivators of all walks of life and encourage the students to share time and space with them. Secretary’s Message

Mishra the member secretary of BIT, Trust is not only one of the visionaries but also the guiding force to continuously aspire to excel to greater heights. He retired as a General Manager of Bhilai Steel Plant a unit of Steel Authority of India limited.
Bhilai Institute of Technology(BIT), Durg, in its existence of over three decades,has continuously strived to play a definitive role in shaping the careers of tomorrow's technocrats & leaders and develop individuals who can impact global development.
BIT, Durg continues its relentless quest to raise the bar and set new benchmarks in the technical & management education. Education is all about stimulating young minds and igniting their intellect.
